  • The Brink’s Mat robbery took place today in 1983, 26 million pounds worth of gold, diamonds, and cash, were taken from a warehouse near Heathrow Airport, much of it went unrecovered

  • The romantic drama movie Casablanca, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, was released today in 1942

  • Frank Davidson Fraser, better known as the English gangster Mad Frankie Fraser, who spent almost half his life in prison, died today in 2014 aged 90

  • The final Concorde flight flew out from London Heathrow into the Bay of Biscay today in 2003, it landed back at Filton Airport in Bristol
