  • Peter William Sutcliffe, better known as the notorious English serial killer the “Yorkshire Ripper”, who murdered 13 women, was convicted today in 1981
  • The Manchester Arena bombing, a suicide bombing attack by a radical Islamist, occurred today in 2017, it happened after a concert by the American singer Ariana Grande, 23 people including the attacker died and hundreds more were injured
